This blog serves to advice on us opening the ARCIS FRAUD DISCOVERY & EXPOSURE CENTRE on Ning, a place for professionals, small businesses and private individuals to assist and collaborate in keeping our business' and private lives free of frauds and scams as much as possible.

Recent studies show that in the US on average 7% of revenues get lost as a result to fraud. A recent survey held in the UK reported that 54% of all employees admitted to stealing from their bosses. Time and time again it transpires that small businesses are more vulnerable and at the same time that small businesses do the least to protect their business against fraud and scams. Be aware that almost one third of all business failures can be attributed to fraud! And most members here fall into the category of extra vulnerable. Instead of waiting around it is time, now more than ever to take fraud and scams serious.
Especially in these tougher economic times it is natural to see fraud prevention and detection as a an expense that is easily saved and moreover, fraud prevention and detection is often perceived as something complex and costly. My experience tells me that fraud prevention and detection does not need to be expensive and since you are on average losing 7% already: there's a budget that is easily earning itself back.
