Hiya,

The new iPhone 4.0 (out last week) can do all of what you are talking about and more! It has a front and rear facing camera - video calls and still shots. You gotta get one on a plan... you will grow to absolutely love it. I take mine to bed (now my wife doesn't think I'm mad anymore as we both use it to look up the internet, play games and clear emails)... More than just a phone, it's an experience. :-) 

Somehow for me I feel like iPhone is more like a fashion thingy. Apple done a good job. lOl just got brand new a N97 mini. Love its iPhone like touch screen and system, as well as a keyword which make writing TXT and email on my phone a lot easier.

Agree with Debra. Internet phone does save a lot especially when calling 021 and International.

iPhone like you say is a mobile phone. Internet phone is more VOIP (voice over internet protocol I think). I use iPhone and have to say its the best thing since sliced bread. My internet phones are voip which I use on the computer and they are dependant upon my internet connection. I can also use a desktop phone (not just any) to make calls using this protocol but I prefer a softphone (computerised phone on the computer). skype is another type of internet phone too. I must say my telecom bill used to be approx $1000 and now my voip bill is around $100... mmmm

I don't really belong here because there's two of us in our businesses - and they're set up as companies. But I had to clarify this because I'm very confused. I thought iPhones was just a name used by Apple - as opposed to internet phones which Neil mentioned and which actually use the net rather than have a separate connection. you can already connect such phones through Skype (and I assume other services), but when you leave the net to a "real" number, then you pay for that connection. As a real amateur in this technology, I'd appreciate it if someone could clarify.

Yes that's it, there are a few on the market now and they are very handy (apparently).
