Business Social Networking for New Zealand Businesses

Hi my name is Bianca Howe. have worked in administration for eight years in roles including Secretarial, Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, Office Manager and more recently I worked as a Property Manager.

I have recently been made redundant and I am looking to either/or/and retrain to up skill and I am looking into starting my own VA/administration services business. I would welcome any help or advice anyone may have.

Bianca.

The best advice I can think of for the VA industry is;

1. google them all (VA's) and look at what they are offering, its a step up and aside of traditional administration
2. align yourself with a good VA company or two or join an established one (like us:) !) so you don't have to turn away work when you are asked to do something you haven't quite mastered yet or don't have the technology for and can't provide. By working with more experienced va's you can be coached so that you retain that client and learn or use the tools that you need.
3. Keep things really simple. Don't go in offering everything, find out what businesses want and offer it and then build from there.
4. I think its good to start offering services locally, then build on the services you provide them and then start moving out from there.

Hope that helps :)

Always feel free to email me directly if you have any specific questions, I'm always happy to respond.

Regards

Debra
