Who do you use? Can you recommend a good hosting company?

When I found them at the first time, I was surprise what they could offer in NZ. The first purchase was a shared web hosting plan, and end up pissing my client off with their hosting service and customer service. The second purchase was a VPS plan. But same story ending...

At one point I needed the A record and C name changed and something else... might have been for this site... anyway, ended up opening up my own iserve account and doing the blimmin thing myself! and it was so simple!

Do U use (NOW)?
NEITHER any of Ur "previous" TELECOM telephones - since 02/09/2009?
Nor the VODAPHONE cellphone ???
None of ur "numbers" Actually work ???
(As listed on www.finda.co.nz - OR the NZ Companies office - OR via a NZ Domains ... WHOIS ESP SEARCH)

Believe me- I TRIED THEM ALL TONIGHT.
Sure Admincorp Ltd - STILL has it's listing details... in the NZ Companies Register.

BUT the (registered) phones DO NOT CONNECT.

Nor does Telecom's 018 service... have ANYONE ?
Actually listed... for the (named) owner of Admincorp?
Even the Metcalfe's I tried to RING ... didn't even KNOW your name?

So? Is it CLARK - or METCALFE?
(Or is it EVEN "either")...

All I know is... there are some pretty shocking companies out there. I have some clients that get themselves set up with a cheap provider and believe me you get what you pay for. I use the following;

www.Iserve.co.nz (reasonable as I host more than one)
www.simplehosting.co.nz (very reasonble pricing)

I haven't had any issues with either of these. There are so many though and I'm sure most offer a great service.
